Meet our Transformative Leaders Fellow of 2019-2020

Biane Abdulla is a current student majoring in Political Science and English at the University of California Riverside completing her last year as an undergraduate student. While pursuing her two degrees, she also interned at a congressional office and worked as a CHASS FIRST Transfer Peer Educator at her university.

Growing up as a Palestinian American, Biane developed a strong sense of passion for Arab American politics after advocating in many ways; serving on board for Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) for one year as secretary, and is now the current President. Passionate about social justice, she often led protests on campus, organized meetings about the Palestinian occupation, and has always been a strong voice against injustice.

Biane strives to help develop a community that offers guidance and support, while also embracing cultural identity. She wants to continue advocating for better representation within the Arab American community by furthering her education in Public Policy so that she can pursue a career that will help serve and represent the Arab American community. She chose to serve as a Transformative Leaders fellow at the Arab American Civic Council to support, represent, and engage the Southern California Arab American community.

Welcome to the team, Biane!
