We recognize that one of the most effective ways to empower the community is to organize. Our long-term goal is to help develop and nurture the skills necessary for sustained civic participation of the Arab American community. Understanding that community power is built over time, the Arab American Civic Council uses organizing tools such as voter registration and Get Out The Vote campaigns to achieve its goals.
Understanding that community power is built over time, the Arab American Civic Council uses organizing tools like year-round voter registration and mobilization to empower, engage, and increase voter representation. Prior to each election, we conduct voter registration drives at Orange County mosques, Middle Eastern churches, Arab community events, and virtually.
Leading up to election day we typically contact more than 20,000 Arab American voters via phone banking, text banking, and door-to-door canvassing. As we canvassed our neighborhoods and phone banked, it became even more apparent that our community values the work and looks forward to engaging with us on the issues. We’ve had many community members show tremendous appreciation after feeling represented by the AACC.
