INTERNSHIP POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

About AACC: The Arab American Civic Council was founded in 2011, with the purpose of forming a dynamic grassroots organization that empowers and promotes the civic engagement of the Arab American community in the Greater Los Angeles area. Our work has contributed to building civic leaders, positively reconstruct the general narratives around Arab Americans, and nurture unity among our diverse Arab American community, regardless of sectarian background, religious identities, and/or political party affiliation. The AACC’s programs and campaigns have been centered on the advancement of the Arab American community through advocating for their issues, and amplifying their voices, which are extremely underrepresented in local and national public dialogue and spaces. We work to achieve this through community organizing, advocacy, public policy, leadership development, cultural outreach, educational activities, and coalition-building with community partners, allies, and other marginalized communities. The AACC programs raise awareness about the plight of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants and organize on their behalf to ensure that they are welcomed, well-represented, and leading a dignified life in their new homes. We support justice and equality for all, and highlight the importance of nonviolent organizing in pursuing social and public policy change.
