Champion of women’s rights Mary Harb to be honored at the Arab American Heritage Gala

MaryThe Arab American Civic Council is proud to announce that it will honor Palestinian-American activist Mary Harb during its second annual Arab American Heritage Gala, which will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at the Pacific Hills Banquet Hall in Laguna Hills, CA.

Mary Harb is a Registered Nurse, an activist and a longtime champion of women’s rights over 25 years ago. Mary was a principal founder of the Palestinian American Women’s Association of

Southern California (PAWA). She is still an active member of the board in Southern California, and has been helping families both locally and abroad in Palestine most of her life. Ms. Harb is well known through Southern California for her tireless activism, and grassroots organizing skills. She has visited Palestine refugee camps in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.  In 2009, she traveled to Gaza to break the US-backed Israeli Siege.  Her extraordinary passion for justice inspired generations of young Palestinian women activists.
