Repeal Trump’s Muslim Ban | #MuslimBanTurns3

House Judiciary Committee to markup NO BAN Act on the 3rd anniversary of Trump’s Muslim Ban.

The Arab American Civic Council welcomes the House Judiciary Committee’s announcement to mark up the NO BAN Act on the third anniversary of Trump’s Muslim Ban.

In a statement released today, Chairman Jerry Nadler said,

In two weeks, theJudiciary Committee will markup H.R. 2214, the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act or NO BAN Act. This important legislation would repeal the Muslim ban, strengthen provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act by prohibiting discrimination based on religion, and ensure that executive authority to prohibit the entry of noncitizens can no longer be abused.”

Since the first iteration of the Muslim Ban Executive Order, the Arab American Civic Council has been holding this administration accountable and mobilizing against this racist ban.

Major news outlets have recently reported that the Trump White House is planning to reveal a massive expansion of the Muslim Ban any day now—potentially adding 7 new countries to the list.

American families are being separated by the Muslim Ban in communities across the United States. While the president tries to score points with his political base, there is a deeply personal toll inflicted on people from the impacted countries and their families.

We will continue to work with our legislative and community partners to ensure the Muslim Ban is overturned.
