BREAKING: In a Historic Vote, House Passes NO BAN Act

The Arab American Civic Council applauds the House of Representatives for its historic vote to pass the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants Act (NO BAN Act) today, which would repeal all versions of the Muslim Ban.

For the past two years, countless families have been separated and denied access to necessary medical treatments due to Trump’s bigoted Muslim Ban.

The NO BAN Act repeals President Trump’s Muslim ban, expanded Muslim ban targeting more Africans, asylum ban, and refugee ban. It also changes immigration law to prohibit discrimination based on religion, and limit executive authority to prevent any president from issuing future bans like the Muslim ban.

The passage of the NO BAN Act in the House is the first step to repealing this discriminatory ban.  The US Senate must now take up this critical legislation and pass it.

The Arab American Civic Council has worked hard alongside partners to engage with members of Congress to end this bigoted policy. We are grateful to our members and coalition partners who helped lead us to this historic day.
