Mahmoud Khalil was abducted and detained on Saturday March 8th. His arrest is an act of anti-Palestinian racism intended to silence the Palestine solidarity movement in this country, but this lawless abuse of power and political repression is a threat to all Americans.
He is being detained indefinitely with no official charges. The day he was abducted, two men claiming to be ICE agents ambushed him and his pregnant wife at their university housing stating that his student visa had been revoked. Mahmoud Khalil is a U.S legal permanent resident and has not been charged or convicted of any crime.
Only 14 members of Congress have publicly denounced the kidnapping of Mahmoud Khalil, a legal permanent resident who was taken from his home by plainclothes Department of Homeland Security agents without a warrant. Call your elected officials right now and demand that they do everything in their power to secure Mahmoud’s release and protect student activists and immigrants.
