A word from Rashad, our Executive Director

{{ FirstName | default: ‘Friend’ }}, I am checking in from the heart of DC! Here representing our community at Arab American Advocacy Days. All week we have been meeting with officials from the Office of Management and Budget and members of Congress.. In our discussions we’ve pressed on issues including:

  • The implementation of the MENA category
  • Health equity for Arab Americans
  • The protection of voting rights,
  • Immigration justice
  • The genocide in Gaza

Arab American Advocacy Days is an annual convening organized by the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC) in the nation’s capitol bringing together more than two dozen community organizations from across the country to advocate on critical issues impacting our communities.

We’re honored to be part of this inspiring lineup of workshops, thanks to Chispa’s invitation. Our workshop, “From Nakba to Neighborhood: Resilience and Resistance in Little Arabia,” will be presented by Ayah Shiadah and myself. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore our community’s history and strength. This event is more than just workshops – it’s a bright light for our future, bringing cultures together in Anaheim at a time when division is often pushed upon us. From trans and queer immigrant rights to affordable housing and community safety, the diverse topics reflect the rich tapestry of our community.Don’t miss this chance to engage, learn, and build connections. RSVP now and join us in shaping Anaheim’s future!

WE’RE HIRING FOR 2 POSITIONS.

AACC GET OUT THE VOTE 2024!

We have officially kicked off our MOVE 2024 GOTV Campaign to increase the voting turnout for Arab Americans in SoCal.

With a goal of getting 1000 Arab American voters to take the pledge to vote in the upcoming elections in November.

Can we count on you to spread the word and take the pledge?

Thank you (Shukran) for your time!

Always in community,
